What is Sutom?

SUTOM is the beloved French daily word game, modelled on the TV classic MOTUS. Words run longer than Wordle and the first letter is given to start you off.

How to play Sutom

You're told the first letter and the word length, then you guess in six tries. Tiles mark exact matches and present-but-misplaced letters, French accents and all. It's a great daily for French learners.

Tips & strategy

• Use the given first letter and length to anchor common French stems.
• Mind accented letters — they count as their base letter on the board.
• Longer words mean vowels matter; test É, A, and E spread early.
