Name a place. The more obscure your answer, the deeper your worm digs.

What is Planespottle?
Planespottle is a daily web-based guessing game for aviation enthusiasts. Each challenge presents a partly hidden photo of an airplane, and your task is to identify the aircraft's make, model, and airline. Wrong guesses progressively reveal more of the plane, making it a visual deduction game in the style of Wordle.
How to play Planespottle
Look at the partially obscured aircraft image and submit a guess for the make, model, and airline. If your guess is not fully correct, an additional part of the plane is revealed to help you refine your next attempt. Keep using the expanding image to narrow down the answer until all three pieces of information are identified.
Tips & strategy
- Start with the airline if the livery or color scheme is visible—it can narrow down the aircraft type as well.
- Study the overall silhouette: wing position, engine count, and tail shape are strong clues for make and model.
- Use the number of engines and fuselage length to distinguish common types like narrow-body versus wide-body aircraft.
- Pay attention to details revealed after each wrong guess, such as cockpit windows, landing gear, and wingtips.
- If you are stuck on the model, try the make first; a correct broader answer may reveal more of the plane.
