What is Wormillion?

Wormillion is a free daily geography game in which players name places and a worm digs deeper based on how obscure the answer is. Each round gives a prompt like “Name a river,” and less-read places on English Wikipedia earn higher obscurity scores.

Perfect for a coffee-break brain tease – quick rounds, no account, and you'll learn a weird river name before your mug cools.

As someone who's stared at a lot of maps, I love how this rewards the overlooked corners over the usual landmarks.
Sol · The Globetrotter
A clever obscurity system, but the 30-second timer turns 'name a place' into a frantic test of recall rather than pure geography.
Viktor · The Purist
This game flips the usual top-of-the-charts geography: give me the B-side rivers and forgotten islands every time.

How to play Wormillion

You get ten rounds, with 30 seconds each, to type a geography answer that fits the prompt. The rarer your answer, the deeper your worm digs and the more expedition points you earn. You can play today’s daily dig or an endless dig with no account needed.

Tips & strategy

  • Skip the most famous answer if you want to go deeper: a familiar name earns points, but an obscure one can take you much further.
  • Take a moment to think of smaller, regional, or lesser-known places before typing the first name that comes to mind.
  • Make sure your answer is actually a place in the requested category and fits any extra conditions in the prompt.
  • If you’re unsure between two answers, go with the one you think fewer people would look up.
  • Use the endless dig to practice and discover new place names before tackling the daily puzzle.

Frequently asked questions
