What is Nerdle?

Nerdle is Wordle for maths: instead of a word, you're guessing a hidden calculation that fits in eight tiles and actually balances.

How to play Nerdle

Enter a valid equation using digits and the symbols + − × ÷ =. Tiles turn green for the right symbol in the right spot, purple for present-but-misplaced, and black for absent. The equation must be arithmetically true.

Tips & strategy

• Open with a guess that tests many digits and at least one operator.
• Remember the '=' must sit somewhere — its position is a strong clue.
• Order matters: 24+1=25 and 1+24=25 are different tile arrangements.
