A refreshed score database and daily estimation rounds—this is the kind of numbers puzzle that rewards knowing your averages.

Commute-friendly fun: ten quick rounds, no account, and a fresh reset at midnight—perfect for a short break.

Daily Challenge plus endless Freeplay means every Letterboxd opinion gets tested, and tie handling proves they respect the grind.
How to play Letterrankd
Two films are shown and you choose Higher or Lower based on whether the hidden Letterboxd average rating is above or below the visible score. A correct guess keeps your streak alive, while one wrong guess ends the run. The Daily Challenge is 10 rounds with the same films for everyone, and Freeplay continues as long as you keep guessing correctly.
Tips & strategy
- Letterboxd ratings tend to concentrate in a narrow mid-range, so a visible score near the middle can be much harder to call than a very high or very low one.
- Cult classics and critically beloved films often rate noticeably higher than mainstream blockbusters on Letterboxd.
- Scores for recent releases can be more volatile because they are based on fewer ratings, so weigh that when deciding.
- If the visible score is very high, be cautious about guessing Higher unless the hidden film has a strong reputation among cinephiles.
- Use Freeplay to practice reading score ranges before taking on the Daily Challenge.
