What is Letter Boxed?

Letter Boxed is the NYT puzzle played on a square: twelve letters spread around four sides, and the goal is to spell your way around using as few words as possible.

How to play Letter Boxed

Make words by hopping between letters, but you can never use two letters from the same side in a row. Each new word must start with the previous word's last letter, and you must use all twelve letters. The daily target is solving it in two words.

Tips & strategy

• Map which letters are rare (Q, Z, V) and build a word around them first.
• Aim to leave a flexible final letter so your second word can mop up the rest.
• A two-word solution almost always pivots on a vowel-heavy connector.
