Find The Needle
What is Find The Needle?
Find The Needle turns the classic phrase into a daily spatial puzzle. Each day, a flat field of straw is generated, and a single needle is hidden beneath one tile. The same field is shared by all players for that date, and your first finish of the day is the one that counts for your streak.
How to play Find The Needle
Players tap tiles to sweep them away. Each tap counts as one try, and a timer starts with the first sweep. The game provides feedback through color-coded words and tile colors, ranging from Freezing (far away) to Burning (a neighboring tile may hide the needle). This guides the search from a broad sweep to a precise pinpoint. The field can be dragged to look around, with zoom controls available on both desktop and mobile.
Tips & strategy
- The daily Normal mode uses a larger field where the color indicator can sit a little off from the true distance.
- Easy offers a smaller field with accurate color feedback, while Hard presents a wide field with less reliable hints and some hidden wire tiles.
- A search you have not started switches when the date changes, but an active search stays until you load the new puzzle.
- Miss a date and your next finish starts a new streak. Personal bests and records are stored locally on your device.
