Each card presents two clues and two answers, but the twist is that nothing tells you which answer belongs in which slot. The only way to resolve the ambiguity is through the crossing letters of the grid — a clever mechanic that rewards careful deduction over guesswork.
How to play Double Cross
You'll see a grid of cards, each with two clues and two empty slots. Type any answer you like into either slot; nothing is checked while you work, so you're free to experiment. When words intersect, their shared letters must match, and only one arrangement of each pair will make every crossing agree. A handy ⇄ button lets you swap a pair between its two slots without retyping. Once you're confident, press SEAL to submit the entire grid.

What happens if I make a mistake when sealing?
When you press SEAL, correct entries flash green and wrong ones flash red. Wrong entries stay underlined until you fix them, but each mistake costs one of your four lamps. Lose all four lamps and the puzzle is lost.
Is there any penalty for using the Almanac?
The Almanac fills in one pair of your choice for free, but the day counts as assisted — so you won't earn the Flawless badge for that solve.
