What is Costcodle?

Costcodle is a daily price-guessing game built around real products from Costco. Each day, the game presents a single item — shown with a photo, name, and pack size — and asks players to guess its price in US dollars.

How to play Costcodle

Players have six guesses to land within 5% of the item's price. After each guess, the game gives directional feedback: "Higher" or "Lower" tells the player which way to adjust, and "Close" appears once a guess falls within 25% of the correct price. If no guess lands within the 5% win threshold after six attempts, the receipt reveals the answer.

Tips & strategy

  • A new puzzle goes live each day at 00:00 UTC, and everyone sees the same item on the same day.
  • Players can share their score without revealing the price, and no account is required to play.
  • Prices come from snapshots collected for the original game, so they serve as a reference rather than current shelf prices.
  • Costcodle is an independent fan game and is not affiliated with Costco.

Frequently asked questions

What is Costcodle?

Costcodle is a free daily game that asks players to guess the price of a real Costco product. It follows a Wordle-style one-puzzle-per-day format, with everyone seeing the same item on the same day.

How does the feedback work?

After each guess, the game tells you whether the actual price is higher or lower than your guess. Once you are within 25% of the price, it flags your guess as "Close."

How do you win?

You win by landing within 5% of the item's price within six guesses. If you use all six guesses without hitting that margin, the correct price is revealed.

When does a new game start?

A fresh puzzle starts every day at 00:00 UTC. If you started the previous day's game before midnight, you can finish it until 00:10 UTC.
