Blather
What is Blather?
Blather is a free browser-based word party game for 2–6 players. One player picks a secret answer and tries to describe it using only a small tray of word tiles, while everyone else guesses. Wrong guesses can be turned into new clues, and describing duties pass around the group.

A tight little word economy that rewards lateral thinking, though the randomness of tiles can make some rounds feel unfairly harder than others.

The joy is in the botched clue—'suspiciously flat breakfast thing'—where a near miss becomes the most poetic hint of all.
How to play Blather
Create a room and share the link so friends can join in their browsers. Each round, the current describer chooses a secret answer and builds a clue from the limited word tiles available. Other players type guesses; any close-but-wrong guess can be reused as a hint for the next clue.
Tips & strategy
- Keep clues short and concrete — they are easier to build from a limited set of tiles.
- Use your friends' wrong guesses as springboards rather than starting over.
- Pick a subject you know well so you can steer the clue toward what your friends recognize.
- Don't aim for precision; a weird or awkward clue can be just as useful.
- For larger groups, work as a team with two players, or compete for the room's top score with three to six.
