Pokémon Connections is a daily puzzle that asks you to sort 16 Pokémon into four hidden groups. It's a free, fan-made web game with no sign-up or time limit, and a new board appears every day at midnight UTC.

How to play poconnections

Each board contains 16 Pokémon from across all nine generations, hiding four groups of four that share a common trait, such as a type, colour, or generation. Select four Pokémon and submit your guess; incorrect guesses don't end the game, but fewer attempts mean a better score. Groups are colour-coded by difficulty, from yellow (easiest) to purple (most deceptive).

Tips & strategy

• Read all 16 Pokémon first and mentally tag each one by type, colour, and generation before making any selections.
• If you can name five or six Pokémon that fit a rule, it's likely bait for another group—a real group has exactly four members.
• Solve the yellow (easiest) group first to remove four distractors from the board.
• Leave the purple (tricky) group for last, as it deliberately overlaps with the other categories.
