Out of 24
What is Out of 24?
Out of 24 is a daily puzzle about the 24 hours in a day. Each day, you try to estimate how many of those hours a particular animal or the people of a country spend on one activity, such as sleep, meals, or housework.

One little daily puzzle with no sign-up or tracking — perfect for a quick break.

I appreciate the transparency: sources are linked under the answer, and the 15-minute spot-on window is a fair test of estimation.
How to play Out of 24
A 24-hour dial starts empty. Drag around the dial to shade the hours you think are spent on the day's activity, or tap where you think that block ends. Then choose “Show the real hours” to see the actual figure; the part you got wrong is highlighted in yellow.
Tips & strategy
- Use the marked hours 6, 12, and 18 on the dial as reference points for estimating a portion of the day.
- Remember that national figures are averages over everyone in the group, including people who are not working, and across all seven days of the week.
- If the answer is given as a band because different sources disagree, aim to land anywhere inside that range rather than only at one exact hour.
- Think about the animal or country before shading: some animals have very different sleep and feeding patterns from others.
- Try practice mode with yesterday's prompt to get a feel for the dial without affecting your streak or album.
