Number Crunch
What is Number Crunch?
Number Crunch is a daily logic puzzle that asks you to clear a grid of numbered tiles by matching adjacent values. The twist: clicking a tile increases its number, and 9 wraps around to 1, so every move changes the board in a small but consequential way.
How to play Number Crunch
The goal is to make all numbers disappear in as few clicks as possible. Clicking a square increments its value (1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 3, and so on). When three or more adjacent squares share the same number, they pop and are removed from the board. You continue clicking until every tile is gone—or until you're left with tiles that can't be cleared.
Tips & strategy
- Plan ahead: each click changes the value of a single tile, so think about how that affects neighboring groups.
- Watch for wrap-around: a 9 clicked becomes a 1, which can be useful for creating matches with low numbers.
- Leftover tiles add 3 points to your score, so a perfect clear is ideal but not always possible.
Frequently asked questions
What is the scoring system?
Your score is based on the number of moves you make plus 3 points for each leftover tile that remains on the board. Lower scores are better.
Is there a time limit?
No. Number Crunch is a daily puzzle with no timer—you can take as long as you need to plan your moves.
How does the daily aspect work?
A new puzzle is available each day, and your results are tracked for that day. You can also see your streak and share your score.
