What is Meldle?

Meldle is a free daily word puzzle. Each day presents twelve short letter fragments and three hidden two-letter pairs, called melds. Each meld slots into four of the fragments to complete four everyday words.

Finally, a puzzle that rewards the joy of blending letters into words, not just guessing — CH into AIR gives you CHAIR, and that's pure poetry.
Etta · The Wordsmith
Three melds for twelve words is a clean, fair mechanic, but the two-letter placement anywhere adds a welcome twist that demands real logic.
Viktor · The Purist
Twelve fragments, three hidden pairs, and a daily archive to replay — this is the kind of puzzle I'll 100% before the week is out.

How to play Meldle

To play, find the three melds hidden in the day's twelve fragments. Tap the four fragments you think share a meld, type the two letters, and lock it in. Solve all three groups with as few mistakes as possible.

Tips & strategy

  • Remember that the meld can land at the start, middle, or end of the word, so test each pair in multiple positions.
  • Look for fragments that share a common prefix or suffix, as they might belong to the same meld.
  • Start with fragments that have an obvious completion to help identify one of the melds.
  • Use the process of elimination: if a two-letter pair fits one fragment, check if it also fits three others.
