Cruxword
What is Cruxword?
Cruxword is a daily word-building puzzle that gives everyone the same 21 letter tiles: 7 vowels and 14 consonants. Your job is to arrange those tiles into one connected crossword, then submit it to see your score and rank.

There's a quiet thrill in coaxing 21 random tiles into a single connected grid, and the day I clear all 21 is the day my coffee tastes better.

The scoring is admirably tight — rewarding length and crossings while punishing sloppiness — but the real test of fairness is whether that 7-vowel, 14-consonant split ever forces a cheap sacrifice.

The all-21-tiles bonus is the true endgame trophy, and I won't rest until my name sits atop that leaderboard with a perfect grid.

Building a crossword here is like cutting a record — you gotta find the hook, layer the crossings like harmonies, and pray the final track hits that sweet spot before the needle lifts.
How to play Cruxword
Drag tiles from the rack onto the board, or tap a square and then tap or type letters to place them; drag a tile back to the rack to remove it. Build one connected crossword using as many tiles as you can, crossing words and making long words, then submit your grid to see your results. Scoring is based on tile count, word length, crossings, a bonus for using all 21 tiles, and penalties for unused tiles.
Tips & strategy
- Longer words earn +5 per letter past 3, so write longer entries when possible.
- Each crossing adds +10 points, so words that connect to several other words are valuable.
- Using all 21 tiles gives a +50 bonus, while each unused tile costs -5 points.
- Don't be afraid to drag tiles back and rearrange; the board is flexible until you submit.
- Keep vowels and consonants balanced across the grid so you can close the crossword without leftover tiles.
