What is Chainle?

Chainle is a daily word-association puzzle centered on finding a link between clue words. Each day offers five rounds that are the same for all players, with up to 1,000 points available per round. Past puzzles are kept in an archive.

How to play Chainle

There are three two-word bridge rounds, one three-word bridge round, and one closest-connection round. In a bridge round, enter a single word that belongs with both clues, or with all three clues in the three-word round. In the closest-connection round, enter the word nearest in meaning to the clue. You get one guess per round, and the daily total can reach 5,000 points.

Tips & strategy

• Look for words that form familiar pairs, compounds, or common phrases with the clue words.
• For bridge rounds, test each candidate against every clue before committing to it.
• For the closest-connection round, think in terms of synonyms and near-synonyms.
• Since you get only one guess per round, brainstorm several possibilities before entering your answer.
