Bracket City (from The Atlantic) is a daily nested-clue puzzle: a sentence is built from brackets-within-brackets, and you solve the innermost clues to unlock the outer ones.

How to play Bracket City

Start at the deepest bracket, answer its mini-clue, and substitute the answer into the layer above. Keep resolving outward until the whole sentence reads cleanly. Fewer peeks at hints means a higher score.

Tips & strategy

• Always work from the innermost bracket outward.
• A solved inner clue changes how the outer clue reads — re-read each layer.
• Short bracket clues are often common words bridging the bigger answers.
